Adult Children of Alcoholics

Baby and Child First Aid
Learn the essential skills to help your baby or child in an emergency. It is specifically designed for parents, grandparents and babysitters. -
BeConnected Online Computer Courses
A collection of short online courses to get you started with your computer knowledge. -
Bones for Life – Feldenkrais
The program consists of a series of simple dynamic lessons to improve bone health with gentle weight bearing movements to stimulate bone strength and to ease joint pain with simple exercises. -
Community Sharing Table
Check out our community Sharing table where you can leave things you no longer use or pick up something new. It might be a book, a scarf, jewellery, paint you don’t need or anything…. -
Computer Classes in Russian
A selection of classes all conducted in fluent Russian, including Technology for Beginners, Computer Course and Using your iPad/ Smartphone. All classes are taught by a native Russian speaker with a PhD in Information Technology. -
Creative Writing Workshop – Roomers
“ROOMERS” provides weekly writing workshops, aiming to give residents the opportunity and incentive to improve literacy, creative and communication skills and access to a skilled mentor. -
Elwood Book Club
The Book group is part of Port Phillip Life Activities Club which is for people who are approaching retirement or retired. -
Elwood Community Choir
Come and have some fun singing in your own local choir! No auditions, all welcome. World music, music by Australian artists, pop, and more. -
Elwood Toy Library
It’s the biggest toy box you’ve ever seen! It’s a place where you can borrow toys, games, puzzles and costumes for up to three weeks at a time. -
English as Another Language (EAL) – Beginners
This course is especially for immigrants who are not able to understand English language or who can manage very few words. -
English as Another Language (EAL) – Intermediate
This is the continuation of our English program where learners take part in basic conversations and gain confidence. -
English as Another Language (EAL) – Pre-Intermediate
This is the continuation of our English program with an emphasis on basic conversations and a range of subjects of interest. -
English Classes for Russian Students
This is a course to help Russians learn or practice their everyday English. All levels are welcome! -
English Conversation
This course is ideal for those that want to practice speaking and pronunciation. The course in interactive so it can be tailored to meet your interests and needs. Eg. workplace English. Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate students only. -
French
Ranging between beginner and advanced, our French classes are run on demand and are taught by a native French speaker with experience teaching adults. -
Galiamble Men’s Recovery Group
Galiamble Men’s Alcohol and Drug Recovery Centre is a 24 hour residential alcohol and rehabilitation centre for men located in St Kilda. -
Good at Art by Kirsty Budge
Afterschool Art discovering different mediums and techniques including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and collage. -
iPads, Smartphones & Mobile Devices Class
A beginner’s class to learn about your device including how to change settings, use the internet, send emails, download Apps, set up an iTunes account, etc. -
JB Fitness and Health Exercise Classes
Classes are circuit/bootcamp based with a mixture of strength and cardiovascular training. Classes are catered for all abilities with progressions and easier options added in when necessary. -
Kitchen Garden
We are currently planning a kitchen garden in our courtyard of herbs and some produce. -
Kitchen Library
We are planning to have a kitchen library up and running by the middle of the year. We are currently receiving donations of kitchen goods for the library but please contact us first to see if we need what you have – please no leaving anything at our House for donation. -
Life Drawing
This great casual untutored Life Drawing comes to Elwood after a 25 year stint at the Linden Art Gallery. Anselm has built up a beautiful group of budding artists with all different skills and experience. -
Microsoft Office for Work
Learn to use Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point to an Intermediate level. This also gives an introduction to iPads, tablets and smart phones and creating a LinkedIn Profile. -
Seeking Volunteers
In keeping with our mission to promote sustainable practices in our community we are creating a KITCHEN LIBRARY and KITCHEN GARDEN at Elwood Neighbourhood House! The Kitchen Library will allow people to borrow kitchen appliances instead of purchasing them, which helps save money and fulfil recipe dreams! Share Produce
Bring in your excess herbs, lemons or zucchinis (or anything!) if you are happy to share with your neighbours. They are always snapped up quickly and gratefully by those without gardens. -

South Port Day Links
The Day Links service is a door to door community transport program for mature residents, people with a disability and their carers that operate primarily to destinations within the City of Port Phillip. -

Spanish classes are held at the centre every Monday and Tuesday, open for all levels! -
Steiner Play Group
Parents with children aged 1- 4 are invited to join our beautiful playgroups that aim to protect and nurture early childhood. -
Sustainable Party Packs
We have wheelie bins full of party cups, bowls, plates, cutlery, tablecloth, bunting and much more with different themes. -
Therapy with Art
This small group of all abilities students use art therapy as a basis of creative expression. -
Work, Study & Play Online
Ideal for new users! This hands-on course will provide you with the basic knowledge to use a computer. Practical exercises will help you learn basic computer terminology and concepts, how to navigate the Desktop and Start menu, launch and exit programs and save and retrieve files. -
Yoga Gita
Come join us for enjoyable, energising Gita yoga classes and finish your day with strength and balance! Experience all the benefits of stretching your body and quietening your mind. Our instructors have been leading this course for years and are a wealth of knowledge. -
