This project is an initiative supported by Bayside City Council and in cooperation with the Port Phillip Community Group (PPCG). The program is to develop a group interested in painting a mural for the Elsternwick Housing Estate. The project is coordinated by Tunni, a local artist who has experience with this sort of programs and Toril, from PPCG who works along with Maggie on a series of community engagement activities such as the kitchen at the comunal room. These girls have done a fantastic job. Tamar is another volunteer who is the official photographer for the event and her skills come through in the astonishing blog that Tunni set-up.

ESNLC runs projects like this one and in fact, another project at the estate. PPCG runs a community kitchen and other activities around the estate with the aim of creating community.

Check out this lovely blog and find out more about this exciting project. Unveiling is coming soon!

LATEST NEWS: We have recently received pictures from Mike Williams, please see them below. The pictures represent the end result of such wonderful job along with some of the participants in the project. What a wonderful job!

This dynamic and contemporary style of yoga includes traditional hatha yoga postures with Tai Chi influences and vinyasa flow. SomaChi stills the busy mind and brings aliveness and fluidity to the body. www.somachi.com.au

Lisa has been a dedicated student of SomaChi and Somatic therapy since 2001. It is the somatic practices and Tai Chi elements that first captured in her a strong quality of self expression, joy and spirituality. Lisa incorporates somatic practices regularly in her classes as it uses a playful and direct approach to embodied weelbeing, feeling good and getting grounded.

Alice is too scared to leave her house.
400 friends on facebook can’t help her.
She tries self help programs, talk show doctors, drugs and even God.
Will she ever be able to overcome her fears?
Or will she be forever home…sick!

Port Melbourne Neighbourhood House and Soup Kitchen Theatre present: Homesick!

Homesick! is an intimate opera about a woman dealing with agoraphobia.
Drawing its musical influences from traditional blues to Gilbert and Sullivan,
with a splash of Sondheim and rap, Homesick! explores topics such as mental health,
domestic violence, and social isolation with pathos and humour.

Homesick! takes the traditional performance concept of opera and turns it on its head, performing it on an intimate loungeroom setting, covering taboo issues, and invites the audience to chat over a free sausage sizzle afterwards.

Written by Abe Pogos. Created by Amanda Armstrong, Catherine Hill and Abe Pogos. Directed by Catherine Hill, and performed by Sara Grenfell and Stacey-Louise Camilleri. Costume design by Bella Drinkwater and Belinda White.

Homesick is brought to you by project partners Soup Kitchen Theatre and Port Melbourne Neighbourhood house. Our organisations are committed to making art relevant, inspiring, thought provoking and accessible to the whole community.

Contact Keren on 0409 706 727 / info@stkildakinesiology.com.au

25th-26th February & 17th-18th March, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. $320.

A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through you and surrounds you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including total relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. The Reiki energy is also taken into the body for healing where it is needed, activating the body’s own natural healing process. Reiki is simple, natural, safe and non-invasive and the client remains fully clothed. You can learn to do this for yourself and others, including pets and plants. Once you are attuned to the Reiki energy, it is with you for the rest of your life. Every time you do a treatment or self-healing, you receive the benefit of Reiki energy and unconditional love.

ABOUT THE REIKI WEEKEND WORKSHOP This weekend course is unique and gives you so much more than a standard Reiki course. It includes a spiritual development component and, rather than following a “standard formula” approach, you are introduced to working with energy, and healing with love and intuition . This in turn will have a positive effect on other areas of your life, developing your abilities gently over time and enhancing your self-knowledge, confidence, intuition and sense of synchronicity with people and events in your life. You will also be gently guided to connect to higher consciousness, understand the concept of working with energy, learn about chakras and the aura and facilitate physical and emotional healing for yourself and others.

A constant thread running throughout the weekend is meditation – starting at beginner level and gradually progressing so that by the end of the weekend you have a thorough grounding in meditation and other breathing, visualisation and relaxation techniques to use in day to day life.

A comprehensive manual is provided to participants prior to the course. Class size is small to ensure plenty of hands-on learning for participants. Conducted in a safe, supportive, comfortable and confidential environment. Keren is an experienced Reiki Master/Teacher and Teacher of Meditation and will guide you safely on your journey.
