Internet & Email

Get on-line and writing electronic letters. This is a hands-on course. You will become familiar with the Internet and World Wide Web (WWW), how to operate a Browser to get to places on the WWW and how to find things on the WWW using Search Engines. You will also get your own email address and learn how to create and send email. Prerequisites: Familiarity with computers and ability to use a mouse is desired.

Self Paced Learning

Pick a course and start your self-paced learning experience: Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook In the classroom you will be supported by an expert trainer and a comprehensive manual— full of explanations and exercises. The course runs over 6 weeks with weekly 2.5 hour sessions. This class offers you flexibility and choice as you will be learning in class and can continue by taking your manual home with you—it’s designed to guide you through your learning. If you complete your course purchase another manual — at your own pace. Prerequisites: Experience with computers equivalent to “Introduction to Computers” course.

PC Club

A twice weekly get together: practice, ask questions and learn much more about anything to do with computers and technology. We will tackle just about anything!

Costs $3: that gets you into the club, coffee, tea and bickies.

Wednesdays: 1:00-4:00pm

Saturdays: 9:30am-12:30pm

MC2 Project

The centre is a member of the MC2 project - part of the Bracks Government's $5 million commitment under its My Connected Community program to giving disadvantaged Victorians the skills, resources and purpose to get online and access all the benefits the Internet has to offer.

The centre will be establish six online groups targeting senior Victorians, including those from a non-English speaking background, unemployed people and those outside the education system and workforce. The project aims to offer existing groups a new means of communication.
