Port Phillip Volunteer Expo

History

The Expo is the brain child of a board member at South Port Uniting Care, a community welfare agency that works within the City of Port Phillip and which focuses on reducing social isolation and the impacts of disadvantage.  It was envisaged that a Volunteer Expo would bring members of the City of Port Phillip together to celebrate Volunteers’ contributions and also the work of the participating community organisations, who all aim to provide a better life for those living in the City of Port Phillip.

Aims

  • reduce social isolation of individual community members by showing them what they can become involved in
  • showcase the work of community organisations in the City of Port Phillip and what they do to reduce the impacts of disadvantage
  • bring community organisations together to network and develop future partnerships

We volunteer for different reasons
